IN BETWE3N

IN BETWE3N ( 2015 /16) - Bridges an outer angle on Telma João Santos self-documentary . Her work is essentially autobiographical and anthropologic . Challenging technical intersection between performance & mathematics - Talk-in-Interaction Polyphony - whenever [de]coded through the camera lenses.  Composing a multimodal geometric dissonance of order & chaos, that mirrors her lifetime struggles as she ressonates with "many-voices" the fragile variable of the body.  Aesthetically Speaking : I visualize her work as Models of Words and forms that are populated into a neural code identical to geometric equations,  recreating sequencial performative  patterns  - parsing fluid turbulence within spontaneous stochasticity . - Symbolic places of speech binds the "self" - building a scenic atmosphere for mathematical concepts that have as reference the performative body ; unveils private and public spaces, transgresses race and gender, gradually refined to the point of an aesthetic medium. So my editing and filming compositions of the documentary were organized around these concepts.

-  This short documentary was a result  for a  Camera - Journalism Project - at the Etic Lisbon Art Academy - in 2015 .  For me, it meant an opportunity to [re]think about the camera-perceived angle of her "self" : positioning the dimension of the body as a Performance Tool , dismistifies her rhythmic fragility and the relation between  thought - movement in space and time while acknowledging the social, cultural, and political nature of her texts.  As I Connected the outer dots  process of her Kinesthetic Process from an external angle , my first ambition was always to create a dialogue between the way she builds performance, which stems from the very essence of what or whom she wants to portray : the thin air in between being and becoming - rising in/out a disintegrated world of constant fracture & hybrid  mutations of the self . It perspectives only an angle on her artistic combination  work  that was also an inspiration attempt movement for others to create a space of interconnection, the same way as language  rebuilds different approaches of dialogue / speech into perspective.

I understand how Artist struggle hard in doing both - creating, promoting themselves and being everywhere . Also, on their hard struggle to distance personal work from the constraints of Academic Projects rigid methodologies - intersecting knowledge and value chain process as a research Journey. Althought, I was limited with the tools in hand I foresaw possibilities in her work in different context / spaces and knew that my initiative could be inspiring or had potencial to others come forward - towards creating valuable intersections. It was no surprise to see her last publication in 2016/2017 CITAR (Research Centre in Science and Technology of the Arts - Universidade Católica do Porto published online http://artes.ucp.pt/citarj/article/view/257 . She continues to work on other projects, intersecting experiences with other artists as well.
